Apple iPhone 11 Pro New Release 2019 - How to Order

Preorders for Apple's new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max opened Friday, and long-reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that the 2019 models got off to a strong start over the weekend, according to 9to5Mac. They arrive in stores on Sept. 20.

Kuo is predicting strong demand for the midnight green iPhone 11 Pro, as well as for the green and purple iPhone 11 models, based on Apple's online shipping estimates. He warned that the midnight green models are suffering from glass production problems, which might limit its availability for a while. If you're tempted, it's currently still available. The iPhone 11, Pro and Pro Max start at $699, $999 and $1,099, respectively.

Display: 6.5-inch (diagonal) all-screen OLED Multi-Touch display, Super Retina XDR display, 2436-by-1125-pixel resolution at 458 ppi

Rear Camera: Triple 12MP Ultra Wide, Wide, and Telephoto cameras
Front Camera: 12MP TrueDepth camera
Battery: Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery
Storage: 64GB, 256GB, 512GB
Processor: A13 Bionic chip
RAM: 64GB 4GB RAM, 256GB 4GB RAM, 512GB 4GB RAM
Video: 4K video recording at 24 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps

US consumers want the premium iPhone 11 Pro, while demand for the standard iPhone 11 is greater in China, Kuo noted. Apple's trade-in program is apparently pushing people to upgrade too.
Kuo increased his 2019 shipment forecast for this year's iPhones from between 65 million and 70 million units to between 70 million and 75 million units, and expects the supply chain to "grow steadily" in the fourth quarter, CNBC reported.

Before you rush to preorder, make sure you're aware of the iPhone 11 models' features and consider what they're missing compared with their rivals. Along with fresh color options, Apple's 2019 phones promise longer battery life, better cameras and faster performance than their predecessors thanks to the A13 Bionic processor.

You can now preorder an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Apple's new flagship has a surprisingly low starting price of $699, which some would argue is its single best feature. Of course, if you're looking for more than the 64GB of storage in the base model, or you want the fancy cameras available in the iPhone 11 Pro lineup, be prepared to spend more. (Pro tip: The extra $50 for the 128GB version of the iPhone 11 is money well spent -- only about $2 more per month if you're buying on a 24-month payment plan.)

Are there deals? Discounts? Any ways at all to save money on this splurgey purchase? Yes to all three questions, though the best deal might be choosing a previous-generation iPhone. Let's take a look at the very best iPhone 11 deals you can get right now. Note that CNET may get a share of revenue from the sale of the products featured on this page.
Apple's trade-in program: Save up to $600

Apple has long offered an iPhone trade-in program that would net you credit towards the purchase of a new model, but this year the company is getting aggressive about it: The trade-in option is the first thing you see on the iPhone 11 order page. The "default" option is a $300 credit for an iPhone 8 Plus, but newer models can fetch you up to $600.

If you're a Sam's Club member, you can get a $200 gift card (for use in the store) when you preorder any iPhone 11 model and activate service with AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular or Verizon. Take note, however, that according to the fine print, you have a narrow window in which to activate your phone and receive your gift card: between Friday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 22.
Sprint: Free iPhone 11 with trade-in

Sprint's deal is just about the only true "freebie" option you'll find. With a qualified trade-in and a new line of service, you can get the iPhone 11 (64GB) for $0 down and $0 per month (in the form of bill credit). Want 128GB or 256GB? You'll pay $50 or $150 up front. Service plans range from $40-80 per month, which are Sprint's standard rates.

So, what trade-ins qualify? Any iPhone 7 or newer. Assuming you're willing to lock in for 18 months, the phone really is free.

Looking for the iPhone 11 Pro or Pro Max? Those are also available at steep discounts with your trade-in, starting at $12.50 and $16.67 per month (plus service).

Apple's trade-in deal is appealing if you want to walk away with an unlocked iPhone 11 you can take to any carrier. (These are the cheapest options for service, if you're interested.) But T-Mobile has a potentially better deal, especially for iPhone 7 owners looking to upgrade.

Indeed, where Apple will give you just $150 for an iPhone 7 or $200 for an iPhone 7 Plus, T-Mobile is offering a $350 credit on those models -- effectively shaving 50% off the price of an iPhone 11. The catch: You have to sign up for a 24-month service plan. (That could work out to a higher cost overall than if you spend more on the phone itself but find a cheaper plan.)

According to a report from Market Watch, Apple opened up online preorders for the new iPhone 11, 11 Pro and Pro Max slates at a time when the industry questioned whether the tech giant would have a disappointing upgrade cycle over its limited feature updates and lacking 5G compatibility.
Analyst Daniel Ives of Wedbush Securities told Market Watch that his analysis of pre-order data shows extended delivery times “across a number of models with many iPhones now slated for delivery two to three weeks after the Sept. 20 official release date.”

He added that “some variants of the 256GB iPhone 11 Pro” were showing strength alongside some space gray and gold models.

Ives also noted that a key market for Apple is in China. He estimated that about 60 to 70 million iPhones in China are eligible for an upgrade. Whether Apple can convince these customers to upgrade will be a hurdle the tech company has to face, and the task may be difficult as the U.S. and China continue an embroiled trade war. Ives’ analysis said Apple needs to convince about half of these users to buy new phones to be successful.

On the other hand, Jeffrey Kvaal, managing director of communications equity research at Nomura Securities’ Instinet told Market Watch he is encouraged by the longer shipment times seen in the three iPhone 11 models.

According to his findings, the premium iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max had shown shipment times of about 17 days on Sunday, whereas the iPhone XS and XS Max of last year had shipment times around 11 days.

The mass market-friendly iPhone 11 had shown a shipment time of about 12 days for delivery, which is roughly three days more than last year’s iPhone XR.
Kvaal drove his point that longer wait times correlate with higher demand.
“While shipment times reflect the balance of supply and demand, our supply chain work indicates supply is flat year over year,” he explained. “We interpret that to mean the 11 is off to a healthy start in the U.S.”

His analysis has a neutral rating and a $185 target on shares.

Conversely, Amit Daryanani of equity research and sales agency Evercore ISI reportedly said in a note to a client that he sees an “inherent upside” to Apple’s third quarter earnings estimates, according to Market Watch.

He explained he drew this conclusion based on the company not staggering the launch of its three new models.
“This we think will have a positive impact to revenues and EPS in the September quarter, though depending on the reception of these products, it may be more of a pulling in of revenues from December quarter,” Daryanani said.

He added, “We think Apple will likely be more aggressive with their trade-in programs to further incentivize customers to purchase the new phones.”
Based on his analysis, Daryanani rates Apple’s stock to outperform and raised his price target to $247. Previously he had the tech giant at $238.

Apple shares gained 0.5 percent Monday during midday trading and reached a market capitalization threshold slightly lower than $1 trillion according to data from NASDAQ.
